By default, there are many different types of operators and can be viewed at this link. Operators are wrappers that cover the task. Example DAG above defines four Tasks - A, B, C, and D - and dictates the order in which they have to run, and which tasks depend on what others.DAG (Directed Acyclic Graph)Ī DAG (Directed Acyclic Graph) is the core concept of Airflow, collecting Tasks together, organized with dependencies and relationships to say how they should run. Scheduler: The daemon that schedules the workflows. Web Server: A Flask server that serves the UI. You can write your plugins and integrate them easily. Problematic tasks can be restarted etc.Įxtensible: No need to wait for Airflow update when a new tool comes out. Errors that occur in data pipelines and where they occur can be easily observed. Scalable: As many tasks as desired can be easily run in parallel. As a result, Airflow provides tremendous dynamics when creating our tasks. Benefits of Apache Airflowĭynamic: What can be done with Python also can be done with Airflow. Such transactions can be managed in an advanced way by using Airflow. Roughly, as in the example above, taking the data from a source and saving it to the target after certain operations are called ETL (Extract Transform Load). If you have a lot of data pipelines like this, it will eventually become overwhelming. What if an error occurs in any of these stages? There may be an error in the API from which you are pulling the data, there may be an error while processing the data, or there may be an error while saving to the DB.Imagine you have a data pipeline like the one above. Airflow is an orchestration tool that ensures that tasks are running at the right time, in the correct order, and in the right way. ![]() ![]() ![]() Benzinga does not provide investment advice. ![]() ![]() ![]() Having said that, it is worth making the effort to stay up once, if you can.ĭisney D-Light is an innovative show and the drone effects were very impressive. Given the importance of getting up early to avoid long lines at the most popular attractions, having the show start so late was a bit of a pain and meant we only wanted to see the show once on our trip. By the time we’d watched the show, battled through the crowd to get out of the park and walked back to our hotel, it was past midnight. My one complaint with this show is how late it currently starts. Both Disney D-Light and Disney Illuminations attract a massive crowd so, if you turn up later, you run the risk of having an obstructed view or not being able to find a spot at all. If you want the best view of the show, stand directly in front of the castle or to the right of the castle, near the Discoveryland entrance.Īs with all Disney nighttime shows, you will probably want to get your spot at least 30 minutes before showtime. When we watched, there was an audible gasp from the crowd when the 30th anniversary logo first appeared in the sky above Sleeping Beauty Castle for the first time. The drones fly into different formations throughout the show, lighting up the sky with colourful LED projections of the 30th anniversary logo and Mickey Mouse. The drone technology used for this show is incredible. If you’ve ever been to a Disney Park before, you’ll probably know that Disney knows what they’re doing when it comes to nighttime spectaculars. You can find showtimes for the dates of your stay in the Disneyland Paris App.ĭisney D-Light is a 5-minute drone show, which takes place every night at 10:55pm, just before the Disney Illuminations firework show. This is definitely our top recommendation as far as the 30th anniversary goes.ĭream… and Shine Bright is performed in the castle hub (in front of the castle) several times a day. We are not usually big parade people, so the fact that we watched Dream… and Shine Bright three times on our trip should tell you just how good this show is. And this is coming from someone who is not a big parade person. The music, the array of characters and the unique format make this a must-see show. I guarantee you’ll have them stuck in your head (in a good way, of course) after watching the show.ĭream… and Shine Bright is the best parade I have ever seen at a Disney Park. The two new songs, Ready for the Ride and Un Monde Qui S’Illumine are both very catchy modern pop songs. The soundtrack comprises a number of classic Disney songs as well as two new songs written for the 30th anniversary. The whole cast of characters and dancers perform choreographed sequences for 15-minutes straight and there is something going on wherever you look around the hub.Īnother strong point of the show is the music. Joining Mickey and the gang are Miguel from Coco (in his Disneyland Paris debut), Joy from Inside Out and Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps from Zootopia, among others.Īnd, I have to say, this is the most choreography I have ever seen the characters perform in a show at Disney. In terms of characters, the show features both classic and newer Disney friends. We visited the resort over Easter and arrived in the hub just 10 minutes before showtime several times and each time we ended up with a great view. This means that you don’t need to seek out a spot more than 15 minutes before the show, which is very rare for Disney Parks. ![]() The stages are also on raised platforms, so you should still be able to see the characters dancing from the back of the crowd. One of the best things about Dream… and Shine Bright is that, as long as you are standing in the hub, there is no bad place to stand.Īll the characters move between the four stages in the castle hub throughout the show, so you will get a good view of every single character at some point. Otherwise, you will miss most of the show! With this in mind, make sure you stand in the hub to watch the show. The parade section starts in Town Square (near the park entrance), before travelling up to the Castle Hub, where the main section of the show takes place. This part-parade part-show features Disney characters, dancers, water effects, colourful parade floats and some incredible new music. In my opinion, Dream… and Shine Bright is the best 30th anniversary offering at Disneyland Paris. ![]() |
